The Columbus Bassmasters fished Tappan Lake, which for many was their very first time fishing this beautiful fishery. While we had a smaller turnout than usual, those who attended were treated to near-perfect conditions. The weather couldn’t have been better and Tappan Lake certainly lived up to its reputation as a scenic destination. The action was steady throughout the day, with everyone reporting plenty of fish catches. Although several catches were under the legal-size limit, the consistent bites kept rods bent and made for an exciting day of fishing. Sometimes it’s not about the size of the fish but the fun of catching them and Tappan delivered exactly that.
Congratulations to Ted Nixon, who took home the Big Bass Pot with the largest bass of the day!

Finishing in the top 4 were Rich Carter, Mike McClellan, Tim Ward and Matt Bertram.
Our next club event will be at Seneca Lake on July 11th. We hope to see another great turnout as we continue exploring some of Ohio’s best bass fishing destinations.
