Alum Creek – October 26, 2025

The final event of the season brought plenty of excitement and a few surprises as the Columbus Bassmasters wrapped up another great season.

The Angler of the Year race couldn’t have been tighter heading into the final event. Jay Siefring and Rob Doughty were tied for the top spot, with Dan Campbell sitting just two points behind.

Jay came out swinging and delivered one of the most impressive performances in club history, bringing in a record-setting bag of smallmouth weighing 23.72 pounds! That incredible effort not only earned him first place, but also locked up the Angler of the Year title.  Jay didn’t stop there, he also claimed Big Bass of the Year honors with a 5.35 lb smallmouth that anchored his bag.

The Co-Angler of the Year race was just as competitive.  Sean Geer entered the final event with a narrow lead over Kajuan Little and he knew he needed at least one keeper to hold onto the title.  Under pressure, Sean came through in a big way, landing a 4.75 lb smallmouth to secure his place as Co-Angler of the Year.

Rich Carter entered the event leading the Big Bass of the Year standings, but Jay’s monster 5.35 lb smallmouth sealed the deal and took over the top spot for the season. Matt Bertram finished the event in second place, followed by Dan Campbell and Bob Schinker to round out the top 4 places.

It was a thrilling finish to a memorable year filled with close competition, great camaraderie and plenty of fish stories. Congratulations to all our anglers for an outstanding season and a special salute to Jay, Sean and everyone who made 2025 one to remember.
