The Columbus Bassmasters were on Alum Creek for Tournament #7 of the 2026 season, and to say the lake was busy would be an understatement. The bass weren’t the only ones enjoying the beautiful Sunday weather. Alum Creek was packed with pleasure boaters, which meant our anglers had to deal with plenty of boat traffic and a steady dose of boat chop throughout the day.
Despite the challenging conditions, our 18 anglers put together a productive day on the water, bringing 70 fish to the scales (58 largemouth and 12 smallmouth) for a total weight of 176.57 pounds!
Top Four Finishers:
- Jay Siefring – 17.70
- Rich Carter – 16.09
- Chad Stemen – 15.80
- Kajuan Little- 15.68
Kajuan also took home the Big Bass honors with a 4.56 lb. largemouth, giving him an extra reason to smile after a long day battling the traffic and waves.
And Then There Were Muskies…the bass weren’t the only fish interested in participating Sunday. Several anglers also found themselves connected to muskies, adding a little extra excitement to the day. Nothing quite gets your attention like expecting a bass to come out of the water and instead seeing a toothy missile attached to your line!
A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped make Sunday’s tournament a success. Sean Geer was behind the camera capturing photos throughout the day, while Karl Guegold and Joe Farkas helped keep things moving during the weigh-in. And of course, thank you to all 18 anglers who came out and competed. With Sunday’s tournament in the books, the Columbus Bassmasters have officially reached the final stretch of the 2026 season. The club will return to Alum Creek on October 4th for the season finale.
